On 2nd December 2022, the Tourism Club of Sree Narayana College, Kannur organized a Nature Camp at Kannavam Forest to promote eco-tourism and raise awareness about forest conservation. Students engaged in activities such as nature walks, observing biodiversity, and participating in discussions on the importance of preserving natural habitats. On 10th January 2023, the Tourism Club, in collaboration with the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) Kannur, organized a Beach Cleaning Programme. This event was held at a local beach, where students and volunteers worked together to remove litter and restore the beach's natural beauty. The initiative was part of the club's broader effort to promote sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship, raising awareness about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy tourist destinations.
The official inauguration of the Tourism Club took place on 14th June 2023. The event was inaugurated by Mr. N.P. Sajeesh, Secretary of DTPC Kannur, who emphasized the vital role of tourism in regional development. In his speech, Mr. Sajeesh encouraged students to actively promote sustainable and responsible tourism. The inauguration marked the beginning of the club’s journey, setting the foundation for future activities centered around tourism education, cultural engagement, and community-based tourism initiatives.
