Sree Narayana College Kannur has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a continuous post-accreditation quality sustenance measure for the enhancement and sustenance of quality in higher education. The IQAC is integrated into the institution's system and embodies our commitment to performance evaluation, assessment, and accreditation. Our primary objective is the development of a system that ensures conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvements in the colllege’s overall performance, with IQAC directing all our endeavors towards implementing measures that promote holistic academic excellence. We trust that the IQAC's guidance will bring about positive results, reinforcing our mission of providing students with an outstanding education. We are confident that this proactive quality assurance approach will ensure institutional success now and in the future. The IQAC will develop strategies and procedures to accomplish the following goals:

  • Ensuring academic, administrative, and financial tasks are completed efficiently, timely, and with progress.
  • Assessing and maintaining the quality and relevance of academic and research programs.
  • Ensuring academic programs are accessible and affordable to all sections of society.
  • Integrating modern teaching and learning methods to optimize student learning.
  • Establishing credible evaluation procedures.
  • Maintaining and ensuring the adequate functioning of the support structure and services.
  • Encouraging research-sharing and networking with similar institutions in India and abroad.

FUNCTIONS
The IQAC will be expected to perform the following functions:

  • Develop and apply quality benchmarks and parameters for academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Create an environment that fosters a learner-centric approach to education and faculty maturation to adapt to new knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning.
  • Organize feedback response mechanisms from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Disseminate information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Organize intra and inter-institutional workshops and seminars that promote quality-related themes and encourage quality circles.
  • Document all programs and activities that contribute to quality improvement.
  • Act as the nodal agency of the institution and coordinate quality-related activities, including the adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  • Develop and maintain an institutional database through MIS to enhance the overall quality of the institution.
  • Foster a culture of quality within the institution.
  • Prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per NAAC guidelines and parameters, to be submitted to NAAC.

The IQAC is an essential component of the college and works towards achieving quality enhancement by creating a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvements across all college functions. The IQAC assures all stakeholders, including students, teachers, staff, and the society in general, of the institution's accountability and transparency in the quality management system and its responsibility to deliver a high-quality education. The IQAC coordinates various programs for faculty, administrative staff, and quality circle members, such as open forums for student and staff interaction, staff assessments to obtain useful feedback for maintaining and improving quality in teaching, learning, and research. The IQAC documents and reports on the college's numerous activities for various higher education requirements, and it also ensures that the college's infrastructure resources are adequate and appropriate for providing a conducive and enabling environment for teaching, learning, and research. Using these measures, the IQAC has become a significant element of the college, responsible for ensuring and maintaining quality across all aspects of the institution.

The Sree Narayana college Kannur’s IQAC endeavors to improve and uphold the quality of education by identifying and recommending more effective ways of using teaching aids, enhancing infrastructure, and proposing new self- finance courses. It serves as an efficient and effective internal coordinating and monitoring mechanism that plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving institutional quality by suggesting appropriate quality enhancement measures. The IQAC meets quarterly to plan, oversee, implement and evaluate all teaching, research, and publication activities at the college. Sub-committees responsible for various activities and departments implement the guidelines outlined by the IQAC and provide feedback. The IQAC aims to promote a culture of quality through the implementation of quality enhancement initiatives and best practices. The IQAC's institutionalization initiatives have led to significant improvements in quality, including the strategic planning of essential areas and the assignment of responsibilities.
