20/6/2024. BSc Botany students at Sree Narayana College Kannur have launched a vibrant initiative called "Blossom - Onam Flowers." This program is designed to celebrate the traditional festival of Onam by focusing on the rich floral diversity associated with it. The students are engaging in activities such as cultivating and displaying a variety of native flowers typically used in creating the intricate and colorful Pookalam, a traditional floral arrangement. Through this initiative, they aim to promote environmental awareness, conserve local plant species, and foster a deeper appreciation of the cultural heritage tied to Onam celebrations. The program also includes educational workshops and community involvement, making it a holistic effort to blend botany with cultural festivity.
