The International Day of Peace was observed on 22nd September 2025 at Sree Narayana College, Kannur, with the theme “Act Now: Actions for a Peaceful World.”
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K. P. Prasanth, Principal, Sree Narayana College, Kannur, who delivered the inaugural address emphasizing the importance of nurturing a world without wars and without violence and developing a zero-violence mindset among the younger generation. In his speech, he stressed the values of compassion, tolerance, and dialogue as essential tools for sustainable peace in today’s world. He also highlighted the relevance of Sree Narayana Guru’s message of “One Caste, One Religion, One God for Man” in creating a harmonious society.
As part of the observance, Dr. Prasanth also inaugurated the Peace Hand Sketch Campaign, where students created peace-themed sketches symbolizing harmony, unity, and non-violence.
The event was actively participated in by NSS and NCC volunteers, teachers, and students. Students of the Zero Violence Programme also took part, reinforcing the message of non-violence and peaceful coexistence.
The programme concluded with peace songs and reflections, spreading the collective vision of a peaceful and violence-free world.
