Under the joint auspices of NSS Units 20 and 21 of Sree Narayana College, Kannur, a Hiroshima Day commemoration was organized on August 6 at 1:00 PM.
Dr. Jeeshna M.V., NSS Programme Officer, delivered the welcome address. The college Principal, Dr. K.P. Prasanth, formally inaugurated the event.Principal Dr. K.P. Prasanth, in his inaugural address, emphasized the tragic consequences of nuclear warfare, drawing lessons from the Hiroshima bombing. He urged students to uphold values of peace, tolerance, and compassion in toda Mr. Sreenish T.V., Head of the Department of Political Science, delivered a thought-provoking talk highlighting the relevance of Hiroshima Day and the importance of promoting peace and nuclear disarmament. NSS Programme Officer Ms. Nithinya R. proposed the vote of thanks.
As a symbol of peace, a paper crane known as the "Sadako Bird" was ceremoniously displayed by the Principal. NSS volunteers formed a human chain, pledging to work towards a world free from nuclear threats and conflicts.
