A two-day national seminar was inaugurated at Sree Narayana College, Kannur, organised jointly by the Department of Zoology, IQAC, and the Kerala State Biodiversity Board in connection with the International Mangrove Day on the 25th and 26th. The programme was presided over by the College Principal, Dr. K. P. Prasanth. The seminar coordinator and faculty member of the Zoology Department, Dr. Rijin K., delivered the welcome address. The inauguration was carried out by Dr. Balakrishnan V., Member Secretary of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board. Environmentalist and mangrove conservationist Mr. Surendran Dharmadam was honored during the event. Dr. Shanoj M. P., faculty member of the Malayalam Department, and Dr. Preethakumari V. M., Head of the Department of Zoology, conveyed their felicitations. Dr. Manoj K., Head of the Department of Environmental Studies at Kannur University, and Dr. Abdul Jaleel K., faculty member of Government Brennen College, presented keynote addresses. A PowerPoint competition was also organized for college students as part of the programme. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Nithanya R., faculty member of the Zoology Department.
