Sree Narayana College is one of the premier institution in the Higher Education sector of North Malabar and it celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2011-12 .This Art & Science College , with 6 Post Graduate and 4 Research Departments ,has proven its identity with a long consistent track record in Academic and Sports and Games .When the college was established in 1960,it was under the jurisdiction of Kerala University and When the university of calicut was established in the late sixties the institution came within its purview. Calicut University has seven District under itd jurisdiction and our college has been champions in the Track and the Field events maintaining high level of excellence . In 1996, When Kannur University was established the college got affiliated to it ,and right since this year the Track Record of sports and Games had been continuously excellent and it could be proven by our Documents . Football, Hockey, Cricket and Athletics have been our forte and the college , over the years, has been producing very many players and athletics who had represented both the Country and the state of kerala
The college has been consistently maintaining an impressive track record of excellence in Sports And Games during the last Fifty Eight years . This is borne out by the fact that our college has been continually producing athletes and players who shine in their respective field t intercollegiate, Interuniversity, State, National and International Levels. During the last Seventeen years the College has been the lifters of Coveted Jimmy George Memorial Trophy for overall excellence in sports and games instituted by Kannur University, Right Since 2000.Every Academic year, on an average, about four hundred students actively take part in various items of sports and games; about three hundred of them become eligible for grace marks; and about one hundred of them excel at University/ State/ National levels.
